15 minutes of LED can make a good facial even better – but not always. Here's which treatments LED works best with, and why.
Skinique editorial

At Skinique you can add 15 minutes of Dermalux LED light therapy to a facial (€30). It's useful when it has a clear job: calming the skin after a procedure, supporting recovery or targeting breakouts. A longer treatment isn't automatically a better one.
Below we explain which treatments LED is particularly well suited to.
A manual cleanse and the Hydrapeel clear the pores, but especially after manual extraction the skin can be red. Near-infrared light calms redness, and blue light targets bacteria on the skin's surface. This is one of the most common and useful combinations.
This combination comes ready-made in Skinique's own Skin Reset, where one visit brings together a deep cleanse, carboxy and LED.
Select a colour to explore its role in Dermalux care.

In Dermalux programmes, blue light is meant for blemish-prone skin. It does not replace cleansing or treatment prescribed by a doctor.
Red light is used when the goal relates to skin texture and fine lines. The programme is chosen to suit your skin.
Near-infrared light is invisible, so the picture shows it as a warm tone. According to the manufacturer, it supports skin recovery and suits skin prone to redness.
Microneedling and BioRePeel start the skin's renewal. Afterwards the skin is briefly red and sensitive, and LED's red and near-infrared light support recovery. Many feel the redness fades faster.
LED can be done in the same visit or a few days later as a separate treatment. Find out more about microneedling.
Microneedling in three steps: assessment, treatment and recovery.

First we assess your skin, your goal and whether the treatment suits you. The intensity is chosen for your skin, not by age.
The device makes controlled micro-punctures in the skin. The depth is chosen for the area and your skin.
The skin starts to recover right after the treatment. Recovery is individual, and you get home-care instructions at the end of the visit.
GIGI Age Reverse, Hydra Therapy and Vitamin C treat the skin with actives. LED's red light complements them by supporting hydration and radiance – especially in winter, when skin is tired.
Here the combination is a nice extra, not essential. If time or budget is limited, the treatment itself matters most.
Always mention your medication and health before treatment. Add-ons can be chosen when booking or asked about at the start – and you can always decline them.
A single LED add-on supports that one treatment. If you're aiming for longer-term change, such as calmer skin or fewer breakouts, LED works best as a series – the Dermalux course of 6 visits.
