About the treatment
GIGI Hydra Therapy is Skinique's deeply hydrating facial with the Israeli professional brand GIGI Laboratories. It combines gentle exfoliation with layered hydration: the skin is cleansed and exfoliated, then given moisture-binding serums, a mask and a moisturiser. It feels soft and supple straight away, and the tight feeling eases.
Dry skin or dehydrated skin?
Dry skin lacks oil, dehydrated skin lacks water – and many people's skin lacks both. Finnish winters, indoor air and the sauna dry the skin out, so it feels tight, flakes and looks tired. See dryness or dehydration.
Hydra Therapy suits you when:
- your skin feels tight after washing
- make-up highlights dry patches
- skin looks grey and fine lines stand out
- your skin is sensitised by frost, sun or harsh products
How does it go?
The skin is cleansed, and the Hydrapeel device exfoliates the surface with water and suction so the hydrating products absorb well. GIGI hydrating serums go onto the clean skin, followed by a calming facial massage. Finally a mask and cream lock the moisture in.
You can add a GIGI alginate mask for extra hydration, or an eye area treatment.
As a series
Hydration builds up: regularly treated skin holds moisture better. For dry and sensitised skin there is the Restore programme, which combines Hydra Therapy with Bioplasma Repair.

GIGI Hydra Therapy takes about 90 minutes and costs €105.

What's the difference between Hydra Therapy and the Hydrapeel?
Both use the Hydrapeel device, but for different goals. The Hydrapeel facial centres on cleansing the pores. In Hydra Therapy the device prepares the skin, and the focus is on hydrating and nourishing with GIGI products – which is why it takes longer.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
Usually yes: the products are calming and the exfoliation is gentle. Tell us about any sensitivity in advance.
How often should I have it?
Many come regularly in winter, otherwise as needed. Your cosmetologist suggests the right spacing for your skin.
Can I wear make-up afterwards?
Yes, but your skin benefits most if you leave it bare for the rest of the day.
What should I use at home?
Your cosmetologist recommends home products for your skin at the end – often a hydrating serum and a protective moisturiser are enough.
