Acne marks, scars and pores – the right time for a course

Microneedling starts the skin's own renewal, so the result builds from visit to visit. Recovery takes 2–5 days, so book an ordinary week rather than the days before a party. Winter brings little sun, which makes recovery easier.

When to postpone
  • Pregnancy.
  • Cold sores, a skin infection or a damaged skin barrier.
  • Acne medication (for example isotretinoin) now or less than 6 months ago.
  • A fresh tan: we wait until the skin has fully recovered.
  • Botox or fillers within 2–3 weeks before or after the treatment.
  • Diabetes: the treatment is not recommended.
  • Blood-thinning medication: talk to your doctor first.
  • Areas with pustules or deep inflammation, such as active spots, are not treated.
Discuss beforehand
  • Medication and recent treatments
  • Pregnancy, chronic conditions and known allergies
  • Keloid tendency or impaired healing
  • Medicines affecting clotting; isotretinoin treatment
Before your visit
  • Stop using retinol and acids one week before the treatment.
  • For one week before, avoid tanning, sunbeds and hair removal on the face or the area to be treated.
  • Do not shave the treatment area right before the visit, so the skin is not irritated.
  • Come without make-up on the day, or be ready to remove it completely before the treatment.
  • Tell your cosmetologist about all medicines, active skincare products and recent aesthetic treatments.
Aftercare
  • Redness usually lasts 24–72 hours, longer after a more intensive treatment.
  • From the next day you can go back to your usual home skincare.
  • No make-up for at least 24 hours; after a more intensive treatment, wait until the skin has fully recovered.
  • Intensive exercise and heavy sweating after 24–48 hours, longer if the skin is still red.
  • Sauna after 48–72 hours at the earliest. Swimming pools and open water after 48–72 hours at the earliest and only once the skin has fully recovered.
  • Use SPF 50+ every day. Avoid direct sun and sunbeds for at least 1–2 weeks, longer if your skin tends to pigment.
  • Retinol and acids usually after 5–7 days; after an intensive treatment or on sensitive skin, after 7–14 days. Go back to them only when redness, burning, marked dryness and flaking have gone.

Suitability and care depend on your skin, selected method and its instructions.

PLANNING

When to book

  • Season — ideally autumn to spring, when it is easy to stay out of the sun.
  • Before an event — not right before it: your cosmetologist will tell you how many days to leave, depending on the depth.
  • As a course — the interval depends on how your skin recovers. There is a course of 3 visits.

Results are individual and depend on your skin and home care.

SKINIQUE

About the treatment

In microneedling a device makes tiny in the skin, and serums are applied afterwards. Below you can read what happens at the visit, what you feel and how the course is built. We finish with professional GIGI cosmetics (Israel) chosen for your skin type.

Who is it for, and what for?

Microneedling is chosen when you want to change the surface of your skin: pores, scars, fine lines or uneven tone. We check suitability at the skin assessment.

How does the visit go?

We look at your skin and explain what we will do. We cleanse the skin, treat it with sterile single-use needles and apply the serums. At the end you get written advice.

What will you feel?

Light prickling and vibration. The intensity depends on the area. You can ask for a pause at any time.

Course and price

One visit takes about 60 min and costs €110. The course (3 visits) costs €295, which is €35 less than three separate visits.

Before treatment

First we assess your skin, your goal and whether the treatment suits you. The intensity is chosen for your skin, not by age.

Questions

Does it hurt?

It feels like light prickling or vibration. You can ask for a pause. Sensitivity varies by area.

When will I see results?

It is best to judge the result once the skin has recovered, not straight after the session. Changes build up visit by visit. Acne scars, other scars and marked signs of ageing may need more than three treatments.

Can I go to work the next day?

Usually yes, but your skin may still be pink: redness usually lasts 24–72 hours. You can wear make-up after 24 hours at the earliest.

How is it different from a peel?

A peel works on the surface of the skin; microneedling creates micro-channels in the skin. Comparison: peels or microneedling.

A really professional specialist and a warm atmosphere. I especially appreciated that, although I had booked a particular treatment, she told me directly that it would not be the best fit for me. She recommended another one (which was even cheaper), and we ended up doing that one instead. I will definitely come here again 😊
