Mature skin needs hydration, elasticity and protection – not fear. Here's how GIGI New Age G4 and RF lifting work together and what results to realistically expect.
Skinique editorial

From around age 25 the skin gradually produces less collagen and elastin – the proteins that keep it firm and supple. Renewal slows and the amount of moisture-binding substances decreases. Hormonal changes in menopause speed this up.
The result: skin thins, dries and loses elasticity, lines deepen and facial contours soften. Sun, smoking, stress and too little sleep accelerate it. The good news: skin can be supported a lot, and regular care shows.
The GIGI Age Reverse facial works on two levels.
At the surface, GIGI Laboratories' New Age G4 line acts. Its actives support hydration, elasticity and renewal, and the skin looks more rested and plumper straight away.
Deeper, RF lifting acts. Radiofrequency warms the deeper layers in a controlled way, so collagen fibres contract and the skin begins forming new collagen. This firms the skin gradually over weeks. Find out more about RF.
Imagine the outer layer as a network of cells with lipids between them.

Irritation and tightness are signs that your routine needs a review. When the barrier is weak, moisture escapes from the skin more easily.
Suitable cleansing and moisturising help the skin hold on to moisture and feel comfortable.
With age the skin's support structure thins and lines appear on the surface.

Care works on both the surface and the deeper layers: skin looks smoother and feels firmer.
Straight after the treatment the skin is better hydrated, brighter and soft. Many notice their make-up sits better and their face looks more rested.
Firmness changes more slowly, because new collagen takes time. The clearest result shows after a series, within about 4–8 weeks. The treatment won't remove deep wrinkles or replace a surgical facelift – but it makes skin look healthier, firmer and fresher.
Firmness builds with regular care. The Anti-age programme is designed as a continuum over several visits, after which maintenance visits keep the skin in good shape – your cosmetologist suggests how often.
To focus especially on firming, the RF face course complements the programme. For texture and lines, microneedling also suits.
No treatment replaces daily sunscreen: UV is the single biggest external cause of skin ageing. Otherwise the routine for mature skin can be short. In the morning a gentle wash, an antioxidant such as vitamin C and moisture are enough; in the evening a cleanse and, if needed, a product that supports renewal.
If the skin feels tight, add a richer cream before you try new actives. Your cosmetologist will help you build a routine that suits your skin.
At Skinique the treatment is chosen by your skin, not your birth year. Sometimes mature skin first needs hydration (Hydra Therapy) or calming (Bioplasma) before stronger treatments. Read also mature skin without age labels and how a GIGI facial is chosen.

RF care
RF (radiofrequency) is a popular way to firm the skin without needles. We explain how heat affects collagen, who it suits, how many sessions you need and how it works for face and body.

Mature skin
Hydration, firming, renewal – or all of them? We compare treatments for mature skin clearly: what each does, who it suits and how to build a sensible plan.

GIGI
Does your skin feel tight even though your T-zone shines? Skin can be oily and dehydrated at the same time. We explain the difference, why Finnish winters dry the skin and how to treat it at home and in the studio.
