Home care is the foundation of healthy skin, but it cannot do everything. What creams can do, what clinic treatments add and how the two work together.

Ageing skin: what home care can do and when you need a clinic
01

Is home care enough?

Home care is the foundation of your skin, and without it clinic visits do not go far. Creams protect, moisturise and support renewal at the surface. They have little effect on the deeper layers.

Clinic treatments such as LED, RF and microneedling work deeper and faster. The best result comes when both work together: at home every day, at the clinic as a series.

At home and in the studio

Home care keeps the skin surface in good shape; studio devices work deeper.

The best result comes when the two support each other.

02

What can home care do?

The most important anti-ageing product is sunscreen. Use it every morning, in winter too, because UV light is the main cause of premature skin ageing.

Other basics:

Retinoids are not used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you are not sure which products suit you, ask your cosmetologist at your visit.

03

What can clinic treatments do?

A clinic has devices and strengths that cannot be used at home. At Skinique we use four methods for ageing skin:

All of these are done as a series. A single treatment refreshes, but the change builds visit by visit.

LED costs least. A peel costs €95–110 depending on the method.

04

How do home care and clinic treatments fit together?

Clinic treatments boost home care, but timing matters. Stop retinoids and acid products 5–7 days before a peel or microneedling. Otherwise the skin may become irritated.

After a treatment the skin is more sensitive. For a few days use only a mild cleanser, a moisturiser and SPF 50 every day. Active products go back into your routine once the skin has calmed. You get exact instructions for your treatment at your visit.

05

Where should you start?

Pick the wish that matters most to you:

When you have more than one wish, a first visit is a good beginning. There your cosmetologist puts together a plan in which studio visits and home care support each other.

06

Who should not have device treatments?

RF is not done if you have a pacemaker, a metal implant in the area, a recent filler or thread lift, or if you are pregnant. LED is not done if you take a medicine that increases light sensitivity.

Peels and microneedling are not done during pregnancy or breastfeeding, during isotretinoin treatment or less than 6 months after it, or on tanned skin. Tell us about your medication and previous treatments before your visit.

07

What do the treatments cost?

Prices start at €75 (Dermalux LED) and go up to €120 (GIGI Age Reverse, 90 min). The exact price and length of each treatment are on its own page and in the price list.
